Don't give up !The class can stay at mid range and just dish out damage even if the guardian gets in your face you can just shield or use a ability with protection ruin or one of the build in shields in the damaging abilities. Gunlancer is very tanky and a great balance in consideration of the warrior class. Scrapper is a well balanced class.An important thing to remember is that gunlancer scales extremely well with engravings, especially blue lancer - since your shield is basically always up (if you have specialization & time your shout right) a lot of the negatives to engravings are basically negligible. Gunlancer is a dps class just like the rest. In kr, striker is pure dps that quite good damage. But striker needs some several things like runes, speicality, etc. Btw i think if you feel good at striker, it is good for you to pick striker.
